Grove of Trees

In my latest painting, I wanted to explore the beauty of a grove of trees through an impressionistic lens, letting the subtle details and colors speak for themselves. Using the wet-on-wet technique, I was able to blend and flow colors naturally, achieving soft edges and smooth transitions. This approach allowed for a spontaneous, almost dreamlike quality in the final piece, yet the landscape remains clear and recognizable.

The trees and soil are grounded in rich, earthy tones. I combined Daniel Smith’s Sepia, Transparent Brown Oxide, along with Winsor & Newton’s Burnt Umber and Raw Sienna to create the depth and texture of the trees. The gentle light blue in the background, painted with Grumbacher’s Prussian Blue and Holbein Artists’ Horizon Blue, gives the grove an added dimension, creating a sense of depth that brings the scene to life. I must say, Horizon Blue is one of my favorite colors for painting skies—it’s delicate yet vivid and adds so much to any landscape.

For my prints, I ensure they’re crafted with care and precision. I used Canon LUCIA PRO ink, which provides vibrant colors, smooth tonal transitions, and sharp detail. The prints are made on Fabriano cold press watercolor paper, which has a beautiful texture that closely resembles the original painting, giving you the feeling of having the actual artwork in your home.

I hope this piece brings the same sense of peaceful wonder to you as I experienced while painting it
