Claude Monet is often quoted as saying, “I would like to paint the colors of the rainbow and the beauty of the birds’ songs.” I’m fortunate to have so many songbirds fluttering by my studio windows. I often keep a window open so I can hear them while I paint. I drew this little guy with medium pressed charcoal, 6B and 4B Graphite pencils. I used tissue paper and Q-tips to blend The prints are made on Fabriano cold press watercolor paper, a textured surface that closely mimics my original paintings.
